Bread Fruit Mellum

BREAD FRUIT MELLUM

Empty the content of the packet in to a preparation bowl. Rehydrate by immersing in warm water (Approximately 40 Centigrade) for 30 minutes.
Mean time add the following to a food blender

  • ½ a teaspoon of Salt
  • 1 teaspoon of Black Pepper powder
  • 1 teaspoon of Mustard powder
  • 1 teaspoon of Cumin
  • ¼ teaspoon of Turmeric powder
  • 2 Green Chillies
  • 2 Garlic Cloves
  • 6 Curry leaves
  • 2 pieces of Pandan leaves
  • ½ a cup of grated Coconut, and blend together.

Now drain the soaked Breadfruit and put in to a cooking pot, add

  • ½ a teaspoon of Salt
  • ¼ a teaspoon of Turmeric
  • 1 piece of Goraka
  • Small piece of Cinnamon
  • ½ a cup of Water

Mix well, cover and cook on medium heat until Breadfruit pieces are soft and fluffy. Then add the blended ingredients, mix well, cover and cook for further 5 minutes. Enjoy.
